‘I came to Barca to score goals, not to assist Messi’ – Luis Suarez

Former Liverpool FC star, Luis Suarez has stated that he came to Barcelona club to score and not to serve as an assistant to Lionel Messi and other players. Speaking with Spanish reporters recently, the player said he arrived at the Spanish club to score goals and not only to give assists to Barcelona players. ‘I came here because I scored many goals in my career and especially at Liverpool. But luckily I am not alone in this; I have players at my side capable of deciding a game and make a difference.’ ‘I’m used to being the main goalscorer, but I also always like to help. But I also know that I came here to score goals not only give assists.’ The player also stated that the team does play for their star man Lionel Messi but that they play for each other. ‘We do not play only for Messi, though. We play for each other. We know that other players can make a difference such as as Messi, Neymar and Andres Iniesta. These are footballers that can give you confidence when playing with them.’ Luis Suárez agreed a five-year deal worth £75m with FC Barcelona on Friday, July 11, 2014….
