Nigerian Billionaire Aliko Dangote wins Forbes Africa Person of the Year 2014

Nigerian business magnate Alhaji Aliko Dangote, president and chief
executive officer of Dangote Group has been named as the Forbes Africa
person of the year 2014 at the unveiling ceremony held in kenya’s
capital city Nairobi lastnight.
According to Rakesh Wahi, ABN’s Founder the event is
all about honouring exceptional leaders from the African continent, who
have made an impact not only on the industry, but who also are touching
the lives of people. This is Dangote’s fourth nomination.
The humble business magnate dedicated the award to Nigeria, and indicated how proud he is that he’s African.

Dangote is ranked by Forbes Magazine as the 23rd richest person in the
world and the richest man in Africa. He surpassed Saudi-Ethiopian
billionaire Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi in 2013 by over $2.6 billion to
become the world’s richest black man. As of March 2014, he had an
estimated net worth of $25 billion USD.
