Man Utd transfer news and rumours: United to splash out £150m to land quartet

Manchester United are prepared to splash out £150m to buy an entire new spine to their team.

With Louis van Gaal desperate to challenge champions Chelsea next
season, the Dutchman is ready to fork out the millions to bring in four
new players to his squad.
Van Gaal has told the club that he wants them to spend whatever it takes to bring in his four targets who are Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, Real Madrid players Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema and Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Cillessen is wanted as a replacement for David de Gea who is edging
ever closer to Real Madrid. United believe they can land the Ajax man
for around £20m.

Cillessen comes out on top in a number of different statistics

Ramos is said to have enquired about a switch to Old Trafford and could
join for £45m while Schweinsteiger is reportedly available for £10m.

Frenchman Benzema, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this summer, could move for up to £50m.

One player nearing the United exit door is Nani, with a move to Fenerbahce likely to be completed this week.

The Portugal winger has showed flashes of brilliance since joining back
in 2007, but inconsistency and injury has curtailed his time at Old
Trafford.

Nani, who has scored 25 goals in 147 league appearances, fell down the
pecking order last season at Van Gaal and is surplus to requirements.
Nani was loaned back to Sporting where he scored four goals in five Champions League matches.
His agent Luca Bascherini has said talks are going well with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

Bascherini said: “We held talks with Terraneo [Fenerbahçe Sporting
Director] regarding Nani he had lengthy negotiations. Terraneo is a man
who knows what he wants and how to get it.”

Atletico Madrid want to signing United striker Javier Hernandez.
The Mexican spent last season on loan at city rivals Real but failed to force his way into the first team.
Now, TalkSport believe Atletico will come calling for the 27-year-old.
Finally, Phil Jones looks set to sign a new deal at United.
Jones’ future had appeared uncertain with United linked with a number of central defenders and fullbacks.
However, the England international remains part of Van Gaal’s plans.
