Project Fame 8.0: 3 Contestants Leave The Academy

Elimination Show 3

The elimination show is always sad mostly because it’s the time for
some of the contestants to say goodbye to the show. Elimination show 3
kicked off with a performance of New Edition’s ‘Can you stand the rain’
and Michael Jackson’s ‘Human nature’. The latter group performance was a
tribute to the victims of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, and was
specially dedicated to the late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, and all other
Nigerians who lost their lives in the quest to curtail the spread of
the virus while also praying for the repose of their souls.

After the sombre mood, the battle to remain in the academy began as
the six contestants placed on probation from last week namely Chike,
Oluchi, Deinde, Tejiri, Richie, and Ruby stepped on the stage one after
the other to perform the same song that got them nominated for possible
eviction.

As usual at elimination shows, the tension skyrocketed the moment the
hosts of the show welcomed the representative of Alexander Forbes
consulting- the company that handles the collation of the votes. The
envelop given to the ghosts showed that the contestant with the highest
votes from the viewers was Chike. Members of The Faculty on their part
saved Oluchi. And as is tradition, the remaining contestants who were
not placed on probation had to save another contestant through their
votes. The votes of the contestants ended in a tie and the tie had to be
broken by Chike when he was requested to vote. At the end of the day,
Deinde had the day and remained in the academy.

At it stood, the trio of Tejiri, Richie, and Ruby had to say goodbye
to the academy. They were full of appreciation to the Faculty, Judges,
and the project fame platform. They performed for the last time with
Tejiri performing ‘Kissing’ by Yemi Alade, Richie- ‘Daniella whine’ by
Patoranking, and Ruby- sang ‘Woju’ by Kiss Daniel to draw the curtain
for the night.
