29,000 Nigerians may be deported from UK

A total of 29,000 Nigerians have been penned for deportation from the United Kingdom, according to reports.
In a recent report on Punch Newspaper, the United Kingdom is reportedly working with the Federal Government of Nigeria to deport Nigerians living in the country illegally.
The report further revealed that the exercise, which is expected to commence soon after fulfillment of all legal obligations by both government, is a common knowledge of authorities involved which include the UK High Commission as well as the Nigerian High Commission in London.
Though the acting Nigeria High Commissioner, Olukunle Bamgbose expressed worry over the move, he insisted that due process must be followed before the affected Nigerians are really deported from the UK to Nigeria.
In a related development, the UK stated that it would continue to maintain dialogue with the Nigerian Government on the sensitive matter so as to preserve the relationship between both countries.
