Reprieve seem to be on the way as the blackmailers of former Miss Anambara, Chidinma Okeke, have been arrested by the police.
The beauty queen had taken the video in her early years at the university just for pleasure.
After she won the beauty contest, she was said to have been blackmailed by some men who demanded money from her.
They further threatened to release the tape if she failed to comply.
However, despite paying the sum of N1.8million to the blackmailers, the group became greedier and demanded for extra money.
When she could not meet up, the video was exposed to the public.
The seven-man gang who are behind the leak of the tape have now been arrested by the police.
This information was shared by a source [Martin Beck Nworah] privy to the arrest.
He alleged that the culprits, who were involved in blackmailing innocent girls after convincing them to shoot illicit videos to which they are compensated with N100,000, are currently in police custody.
Mr. Martin claimed that these men were very conscious of the business they were involved in and had a target to blackmail young girls.
The gang met their waterloo when they tried the same trick on another lady who was a former Unizik student.
The lady in question is currently an upcoming actress and a model.
Their mode of operation is very simple: they open female Facebook accounts and scout for unsuspecting young ladies.
These guys will operate the said accounts as ladies and become very friendly with the said girls.
Inundated with promises of making them become celebrities and promising to crop out their faces before posting pictures, these unsuspecting girls will send suggestive pictures and shot amorous videos in return for a particular sum of money
While the police is yet to release an official statement on the matter, Martin said that the culprits were already in custody and the law will take its course on the matter.
