Apparently answering those insinuating that his visit to President Mohammadu Buhari was political, Gov. Willie Obiano, of Anambra State has dispel the rumour by insisting that his visit was merely to welcome him ,thank him for riding South East of those IPOB menace and to discuss critical security issues with him.
Chief Obiano who made this known during a dinner with APGA stakeholders, said that he merely visited Buhari to welcome him back to Nigeria after many months of absence. He said he could not join the Governors of the APC to receive him because it appeared to be primarily an APC affairs.
Obiano said he did not discuss politics with Buhari because there was actually nothing to discuss, boasting that APGA will beat other parties silly in the coming election. “I remain a warrior from Aguleri, we do not negotiate to avert war, we prefer meeting our opponents in the field so that we can give them open beating”, Obiano concluded
Recalling all the security lapses witnessed in the absence of Buhari, especially what he called the “madness of IPOB, led by a little Nnamdi Kalu that is yet to distinguish his left from his right” Obiano said he took the opportunity of the visit to thank Buhari for taken decisive stand against IPOB and similar “national irritants.”
Obiano said he also briefed Buhari of the measures the South-East Governors had taken towards IPOB and called on him to continue to assist the region in their fight against associations that have the tendency to turn into terrorist organizations.
On the poor state of infrastructure in the region, Obiano said that it was not part of the agenda, but promised to take it up next time he will meet Mr. President.
