EFCC Arrests 24 Undergraduates, 12 Others for Cyber Crime

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Office has arrested thirty-six suspected internet fraudsters at 21, Sawmill Road Awa-Ijebu, Ogun State. The suspected cyber criminals who are between 19 and 37 years of age include: twenty-three students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, out of which nine were ladies who allegedly claimed to be girlfriends and or neighbours of some of the suspects; one from the National Open University of Nigeria and twelve others are non-students. The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Umar Danbatta, on Thursday said the 36.6 million telephone lines withdrawn from telecom operators in March this year, were found to be redundant. Dr Dre and his Beats Electronics co-founder Jimmy Iovine have been slammed with a $25 million bill after a jury ruled against them in a lawsuit.
