Meek Mill Debuts New Song With Miguel About Police Violence at the BET Awards

Last night at the 2018 BET Awards, Meek Mill premiered a new song, Stay Woke, featuring singer Miguel.

Their stage depicts a street corner which shows police officers charging at the kids playing behind Meek, and firing their guns at the unarmed citizens.

The song stirred moving reactions among fans on social media, and it comes at a time when America is battling various issues including racism, police brutality and, more recently, immigration.

While performing last night, Meek wore a hoodie featuring a picture of XXXTentacion on the front and Pittsburgh rapper Jimmy Wopo on the back. Recall that the two were shot and killed last week; a suspect has been arrested in connection to XXX’s murder, but none yet in Wopo’s case.

Watch Meek’s performance below.
