Since the harmattan has decide to play and seek, and the sun has refused to give up it’s supreme and unrelenting reign, maybe it’s about time you divest yourself of clothes and walk around in your underwear.
Should we walk around naked? That’s the line of thought for many people reading this piece but hey! Now more than ever, the saying “Less is more” rings true.
There is absolutely no reason to bundle/layer up for the holiday season- a practice which was the ritual a few years ago. Because no thanks to global warming, humans are resorting to innovative and fashionable ways to rid themselves of clothes and strut around in the flimsiest and tiniest of outfits without being offensive.
Here’s a perfect solution for the season’s heat – Wearing your lingerie as a top instead of an underwear.
While the trend may not have been birthed as a result of heat, it sure wouldn’t hurt to try it for the comfort it promises to offer alongside its other perks-mainly putting your sexy upper body on display. I mean, if you have it, flaunt it. *wink*
I am sure if we have looked closely some of us would have noticed the trend – slowly but surely- creeping into fashion culture. With celebrities home and abroad arriving at ways to rock the trend tastefully – Khloe Kardashian with her revenge body, our very own Annie Idiba and a few others have done it. Whats to stop you from trying?
Best way to make this underwear-cum-top look work (there’s no name for the trend yet) is to opt for a bralette or a body suit in your perfect size (not too small, not too big) for a flawless execution.
You can rock it in different colours, designs and fabrics – lace, cotton, etc, as long as it is tastefully done. It can be paired with a skirt, jeans, pants, or worn instead of a camisole, and in other innovative ways.
You think it’s incredulous? Find a reason to trek under the Nigerian sun for at least one hour and then give your feedback after that. Would you try it though?
