Pope Francis has described abortion as the “white glove” equivalent of the Nazi era eugenics program, saying families should accept the children that God gives them.
According to DailyMail, the pontiff made this known at a meeting of an Italian family association, lamenting how some couples choose not to have children, while others carry out pre-natal tests to see if the unborn child has any malformations or genetic problems.
“The first proposal in such a case is, ‘Do we get rid of it?’ The murder of children. To have an easy life, they get rid of an innocent,” the Pope said.
The Pope said he was horrified as a child whenever his teacher told stories of children “thrown from the mountain” if they were born with malformations.
“Today we do the same thing. Last century, the whole world was scandalized by what the Nazis did to purify the race. Today, we do the same thing but with white gloves,” the Pope said.
Families should accept children “as God gives them to us,” the Pope said.
