The National Universities Commission ( NUC) has abolished the award
of Pass Degree in Nigerian Universities with effect from the 2013/ 2014
academic session.
This decision was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the Usmanu
Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru during the school’s
2014/2015 matriculation ceremony which held yesterday February 4th in
Sokoto.
According to Prof Zuru, the grading system of students in the universities has changed.
“What this means is that the minimum pass
mark for courses in the universities will now be 45 per cent, that is,
D-grade instead of the previous 40 per cent which was E-grade while the
minimum class of grade to be earned by the students will be now be Third
Class,” he said.
