American Missionary Kidnapped In Kogi State Regains Freedom

An American missionary kidnapped in Kogi on the 23rd
of February, 2015 from the Free Methodist Church which she serves has
been released. She was released yesterday and the State’s police
spokesperson confirmed the news to AFP.
Police said no money was paid for her release and she was dropped by the bush side before her kidnappers took to their heels.
Phyllis Sortor who is 71 and has served as a
missionary in different African countries, was handed over to the
American embassy by the police. We hope this won’t make her run
permanently from Nigeria.
